Shortly after Kharis Redwater, a native, anti-mining activist is killed in a mysterious hit and run, horrific, seemingly random murders start occurring in the snowfields of Kharis’ isolated reserve. Betty Stonechild, a local tribal police officer deputizes Stacey Cole, a female, Métis Afghan combat veteran with serious PTSD issues to help resolve the terror afflicting the reserve. As they begin to connect the dots and find the connection tying together the seemingly arbitrary killings, they confront a world of ancient native myth now very much alive in their small insulated world, making themselves and their loved ones targets of a primordial supernatural force.
