Throughout her very long-life Marie-Rose Delorme Smith, a French- Métis woman, saw the world of the Canadian Prairie change from a traditional sweep of grassy plains and dust-choked buffalo hunts to settled ranch land. At each stage of her life adversity forces her to become stronger and stronger; another lesson learned. In an era when ordinary women often remained unknown, Marie-Rose Delorme Smith cemented her place in history and personally knew many of the historical personalities of the time.
